Exam prep: from class notes to flashcards and practice quizzes
Turn the slides, PDFs and handwritten notes you already have into a review plan you can test yourself on.

Who this workflow is for
Students preparing for exams, certification candidates, and anyone who has a stack of slides and notes but no structured way to review them. The idea is simple: rereading feels productive, but testing yourself is what shows you what you really know.
The workflow, step by step
- Add your course material. Upload the lecture slides (PowerPoint or PDF), a Word document or eBook chapter, or snap a photo of handwritten notes — Axo reads photos with OCR.
- Generate a summary first. Pick Summary to get the key points and takeaways of the material, so you can see the shape of the topic before drilling details.
- Create flashcards for the details. From the same source, pick Flashcards to turn definitions, formulas, dates and terms into active-recall cards.
- Test yourself with a quiz. Pick Quiz to get practice questions on the material and find out what you can actually recall before the exam.
- Review the gaps. Go back to the summary or flashcards for anything you missed in the quiz, then take the quiz again.
Tip: generate outputs one chapter or lecture at a time. Smaller sources give you focused flashcards and quizzes you can finish in one sitting.
Which Axo outputs to use
- Summary — the overview you read first.
- Flashcards — memorize the essentials with active recall.
- Quiz — check understanding before the exam.
- Podcast — optional: relisten to the material on your commute.
