Welcome to Axo ("we," "our," or "us"). Axo is developed and operated by Yaysoft LTD. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the Axo mobile application ("App").
By using Axo, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
Axo uses anonymous authentication via Firebase. We do not require your name, email address, or any personal identifiers to create an account. Each user is assigned a unique anonymous user ID for internal use.
1.2 User-Generated Content
When you use Axo, you may submit the following types of content for processing:
- Web URLs — Links to articles and web pages
- YouTube URLs — Links to YouTube videos for transcript extraction
- Documents — PDF, DOCX, and TXT files you upload
- Photos — Images for text recognition (OCR)
- Text — Plain text you enter directly
The content you submit is stored on our servers only with your consent and solely for the purpose of generating your requested outputs (podcasts, summaries, flashcards, translations). You have full control over your content and may delete it at any time — both before and after processing.
1.3 Generated Content
Axo creates the following outputs based on your input:
- Podcasts — AI-generated audio narrations
- Summaries — Condensed versions of content
- Flashcards — Study materials in various formats
- Translations — Content translated into supported languages
Generated audio files, text content, and associated metadata are stored in Firebase Storage and Cloud Firestore linked to your anonymous user ID.
1.4 Subscription and Purchase Data
Axo uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. We store your subscription status and entitlements. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not have access to your credit card information, billing address, or any financial details.
1.5 Device and Usage Data
We may automatically collect the following:
- Device type, operating system version
- App version
- Usage analytics (features used, session duration)
- Crash reports and error logs
- Push notification tokens
1.6 Device Permissions
Axo may request the following permissions:
- Camera — To take photos for text recognition (OCR)
- Photo Library — To select images for text recognition
- Notifications — To notify you when content processing is complete
All permissions are optional and requested only when you use the relevant feature.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process your content and generate podcasts, summaries, flashcards, and translations
- Store your generated content in your personal library
- Enable public sharing of content in the community discover feed (only when you choose to make content public)
- Manage your subscription status
- Send push notifications about completed jobs and processing updates
- Improve app performance, fix bugs, and enhance features
- Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
3. Content Storage and User Control
You have full control over your content at all times.
• Your content is stored only with your permission and for the purpose of providing our services.
• You may delete any content — source materials and generated outputs — at any time from within the App.
• You may delete content before processing (while pending) or after processing (completed outputs).
• When you delete content, it is permanently removed from our servers, including any associated audio files and metadata.
• If you choose to make content public, it appears in the community discover feed. You may change content visibility back to private or delete it at any time.
4. Third-Party Services
Axo integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database, file storage, analytics, remote configuration, and push notifications. Firebase Privacy Policy

- Google ML Kit — On-device text recognition from images (processed locally on your device).
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store — Payment processing for subscriptions.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share limited data in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers — With the third-party services listed above, solely to provide app functionality.
- Content Processing — Your submitted content is sent to our backend servers and AI services (OpenAI) for processing. This data is used exclusively to generate your requested outputs and is not used for any other purpose.
- Public Content — If you choose to make content public, other users can view the generated output (title, category, and content) in the discover feed. Your anonymous user ID may be associated with public content.
- Legal Requirements — If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Copyright Enforcement — In response to valid copyright infringement claims (see Section 7).
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure cloud infrastructure (Firebase/Google Cloud)
- Anonymous authentication to minimize personal data collection
- Access controls and authentication for backend services
While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Copyright and Content Removal
Axo respects intellectual property rights. If content processed through our App is found to infringe upon copyrights or other intellectual property rights:
• We will promptly remove or disable access to the infringing content upon receiving a valid notice.
• Content flagged for copyright infringement may be removed without prior notice to the user who submitted it.
• Repeat infringers may have their access to the App suspended or terminated.
• If you believe your copyrighted work has been used without authorization, please contact us at the address below with a detailed description of the infringement.
8. Content Reporting
Users can report inappropriate or infringing content through the in-app reporting feature. We review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include removing the reported content from the community discover feed and our servers.
9. Children's Privacy
Axo is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
10. Data Retention
We retain your content and generated outputs for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. You may delete your content at any time. If you stop using the App, your anonymously stored data may be retained for a reasonable period for operational purposes before being permanently deleted.
11. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers operate. By using Axo, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and the "Last Updated" date will be revised. Continued use of Axo after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
